Mylar Emergency Blanket, Cast Plaster, Level, Mylar Tape, Provenience Drawing Square
From the collection of the artist
This installation addresses ways in which we attempt to make sight objective. The yellow frame on the left is a drawing square 1 meter tall x 1 meter wide that is used on archeological dig sites to help record locations of discoveries accurately. The bust fragments on the ground are parts of a plaster cast the artist made, broke, and filled in, a process he likens to Photoshop. The level demarcates the ground, while the Mylar material provides a luminous, unifying backdrop for the tableaux.
